In 2005, SSN-711 collided with an undersea mountain about 420 miles southeast of Guam, causing severe damage to the forward ballast comparments and sonar dome.

HEGER was hired by Guam Shipyard to provide technical assistance for the emergency docking including design of the blocking, preparation of docking calculations and pumping plan, and alignment of the sub over the blocks during docking.
