In 2004 VT Halter in Pascagoula Mississippi needed to launch the 12,000 ton vessel JEAN ANN which they were constructing.

HEGER provided complete design drawings and specifications for transfer tracks on shore and on the floating dock, roller system and transfer cars. HEGER inspected and analyzed the existing floating dock structure’s capability to support transfer loads and recommended strengthening. HEGER provided loading on concrete slab for review by others. HEGER developed transfer procedures, operational limits and pumping plan for the transfer. HEGER developed the procedure for installing transfer tracks and cars and step by step procedure for transfer of the vessel’s weight from building blocks to the transfer cars. HEGER directed the ballasting of the dock during actual transfer.

The JEAN ANN was successfully transferred and launched in 2004.
